本片讲述了《山海经》等古籍中极具个性色彩的八只妖怪。每集以“妖怪”在过往历史中的文字记载作为基本背景，采用动态漫画场景再现及真人访谈、讲述相结合的形式，带领观众一起感受我国古人了不起的想象力，体会传统文化的魅力，看到中国人充满力量的精神内核。。为了纪念日本著名电影导演之一小津安二郎诞辰120周年，WOWOW决定翻拍他早期的无声电影。标题是《连续剧W OZU ～小津安二郎描绘的故事～》。它采用综合剧的形式，将“世界小津”的起源替换为现代背景，并通过色彩和有声电影（声音）复活。。The Once-Lers are told by the owner that they can sit on the wagon and that it had better not move.
